<h2>Matthew 22:1-10 (New International Version)</h2>
<h4>Matthew 22</h4>
<h5>The Parable of the Wedding Banquet</h5>
<p>1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2&#8220;The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.</p>
<p>4&#8220;Then he sent some more servants and said, &#8216;Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.&#8217;</p>
<p>5&#8220;But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.</p>
<p>8&#8220;Then he said to his servants, &#8216;The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.&#8217; 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

<h5>Jesus Feeds Five Thousand</h5>
<p>13 As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. 14 Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.</p>
<p>15 That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.”</p>
<p>16 But Jesus said, <span>“That isn’t necessary—you feed them.”</span></p>
<p>17 “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered.</p>
<p>18 <span>“Bring them here,”</span> he said. 19 Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. 20 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. 21 About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!

<h4>John 2</h4>
<h5>The Wedding at Cana</h5>
<p>1 The next day[<a>a</a>] there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”</p>
<p>4 <span>“Dear woman, that’s not our problem,”</span> Jesus replied. <span>“My time has not yet come.”</span></p>
<p>5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”</p>
<p>6 Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.[<a>b</a>] 7 Jesus told the servants, <span>“Fill the jars with water.”</span> When the jars had been filled, 8 he said, <span>“Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.”</span> So the servants followed his instructions.</p>
<p>9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”</p>
<p>11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.</p>

<p>9 When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood. 10 And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. 11 At that moment the angel of the L<span>ord</span> called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”</p>
<p>“Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”</p>
<p>12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”</p>
<p>13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. 14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the L<span>ord</span> will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the L<span>ord</span> it will be provided.”

<p>11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. 14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.</p>

<h4>Genesis 22</h4>
<h5>Abraham’s Faith Tested</h5>
<p>1 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.</p>
<p>“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”</p>
<p>2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”</p>
<p>3 The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”</p>

<p>“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.</p>
<p>“We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”</p>
<p>8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
